“Come in Big Numbers to See Us Win” - Arshdeep Singh Appeals to Locals

Punjab Kings (PBKS) fast-bowler Arshdeep Singh has made a heartfelt plea to fans from Punjab to rally behind their home team ahead of the match versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Punjab Kings journey to the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) playoffs has been nothing short of inspirational. Under the leadership of captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting, the team earned a top-two finish in the league stage, giving themselves two opportunities to reach the final.

It is a massive achievement for the team, which last reached the playoffs over a decade ago. Despite their on-field success, PBKS face a challenge off the field in garnering support from the home fans.

Arshdeep Singh Appeals for Local Support Ahead of IPL 2025 Qualifier 1

The Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025 is scheduled to take place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, which is the home of Punjab Kings.

However, as things stand, it is expected that RCB will enjoy more support from the fans present in the stadium due to Virat Kohli, who boasts a massive fan following around the globe.

In a recent interaction on Snapchat, Arshdeep Singh added to this, responding to a fan who expressed support for PBKS despite not being Punjabi. The speedster thanked the fan and expressed concern over the lack of support from the locals. He urged the Punjabi fans to come to their support in Mullanpur and help them make use of the home advantage.

"Thank you for supporting us. You’re not Punjabi but you’re still supporting Punjab, whereas there are a lot of people who don’t support Punjab and have different favourite teams. I would like to urge them to support Punjab, their state, their team, and come in big numbers to see us win," Arshdeep Singh said as quoted.

Punjab Kings Eyeing Maiden IPL Title

Punjab Kings last qualified for the playoffs in 2014. They lost in the final to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that season. They have not come closer to winning a title since, but this year feels different.

Under Iyer’s captaincy, they have looked a different team all together. The Kings have all bases covered and have been the best team of the league stage. It would be an upset if they do not win the trophy.

With the stakes higher than ever, PBKS hope that the local fans listen to Arshdeep's call and turn up in large numbers to support their team in this crucial match against RCB.
