Aiden Markram & Mitchell Marsh continued their good form as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were off to a solid start against Delhi Capitals (DC) in match number 40 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season. Sent into bat first, LSG openers were cautious to begin before Markram broke the shackles and thumped Mitchell Starc for a six in the second over. That shot shifted the power play in LSG's favor as they finished on 51 runs.
Markram was the aggressor of the two, as he punished DC bowlers who bowled short to him. While Marsh took some time to get going, he targeted Dushmantha Chameera and enabled LSG did not lose any wickets in the power play. For DC, skipper Axar Patel's captaincy stood out as he bowled himself in the power play for the favorable right-hand match-up.

Although the Southpaw was not successful in breaking the partnership, Axar Patel kept things tight and finished his four overs, conceding just 29 runs. For LSG, Markram reached 50 runs off just 30 balls. This was his fourth fifty in IPL 2025 season in just nine games .

LSG looks to post a formidable total as Markram & Marsh lay the perfect foundation
With a solid foundation set, LSG would now be aiming to post a 200-plus total. With Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant, Ayush Badoni, and David Miller yet to come, LSG will be hoping to make the start count by Marsh and Markram. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav's spell will be crucial as he is DC's wicket-taker in the middle overs. Just when the South African batter was looking set for a big score, he was out for (52) runs as LSG finished the 10-over mark on 87 for the loss of one wicket.
