Priyansh Arya's stunning 103 runs off 42 balls guided PBKS to an 18-run win over CSK, marking their fourth victory of the season. CSK falls short again.

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first on the dry surface of Mullanpur Stadium. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the batting, with Khaleel Ahmed given the new ball. The young Priyansh Arya began the innings with a six, making a statement from the young man from Delhi. However, he edged one back to Khaleel Ahmed, who dropped the catch. The first over was eventful as Khaleel conceded 18 runs.

CSK Pulls PBKS Back with Strong Fight

Mukesh Choudary bowled the second over and struck gold immediately for CSK by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh for a duck. Shreyas Iyer joined the young Arya and witnessed some effortless sixes, hitting one himself that cleared mid-on. Unfortunately, his stay at the crease was short-lived as Khaleel Ahmed bowled him out with a beautiful delivery.

Marcus Stoinis came in next but struggled against some good-length deliveries. Meanwhile, Priyansh Arya played beautifully, attacking the CSK bowlers and hitting several huge maximums. By the end of the first five overs, PBKS had scored 54 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Ravi Ashwin bowled the final over of the powerplay and leaked 21 runs, thanks to Priyansh Arya, who reached his fifty in just 19 balls. PBKS ended the powerplay with a score of 75 runs for 3 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings responded strongly in the middle overs, taking two quick wickets. Ravi Ashwin claimed two wickets in his second over, dismissing Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell. At the end of the 8th over, PBKS was 83 runs for 5 wickets, having lost half their side before the 10-over mark.

Priyansh Arya scored his century in just 39 balls, finishing with an impressive 103 runs off 42 deliveries, including 9 sixes and 8 fours. His innings were a spectacle, showing immense talent as he took on the quality bowling of Chennai Super Kings. He received a standing ovation as he departed. At this stage, PBKS’s score was 158 runs for 6 at the end of 14 overs.

Marco Jansen joined Shashank Singh in the middle, and both played aggressively, hitting sixes despite CSK’s tight lines. Shashank Singh brought up his fifty on the last ball, and PBKS ended their innings with a total of 219 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. CSK Fell Short Again!

Chennai Super Kings had a massive target in front of them, with Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway opening the batting. CSK started the powerplay with intent, finding boundaries and tallying 54 runs without loss at the end of six overs. PBKS claimed their first breakthrough by dismissing Rachin Ravindra, who scored 36 runs off 23 balls. They soon got another major wicket, with Ruturaj Gaikwad falling for just 1 run off 3 balls. Suddenly, PBKS was back in the game.

Shivam Dube joined Devon Conway as the impact player, and the CSK innings began to progress slowly with the required run rate increasing. However, both batters managed to find boundaries, ending the 10 overs with a score of 91 runs for 2 wickets.

As the partnership grew stronger, Devon Conway, who had been struggling initially, accelerated and reached his fifty off 37 balls. Dube continued his typical six-hitting style, and together the pair added 89 runs off 51 balls. At this stage, CSK was at 145 runs for 2 wickets, needing another 75 runs off the last 5 overs.

Lockie Ferguson took a crucial wicket by dismissing Shivam Dube, bowling him out for 42 runs off 27 balls. This was the breakthrough PBKS was looking for, and the crowd cheered as they saw MS Dhoni walking to the crease with 68 runs needed off the last 4 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled his first over for CSK, conceding only 7 runs, while the required run rate reached 20 in the final 3 overs.

MS Dhoni smashed two sixes off Lockie Ferguson's over, keeping the crowd hopeful for a magical finish. To the surprise of many, Devon Conway was retired out, and Ravindra Jadeja joined MS Dhoni at the crease. Despite an intent knock from Dhoni, CSK fell short of the target by 20 runs, with PBKS defeating CSK by 18 runs. This marked PBKS's fourth victory and handed CSK their fourth consecutive defeat of the season.
