Kolkata Kniht Riders (KKR) are chasing 112 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mullanour to win back to back games in IPL 2025. They are yet to win back to back games in this season so far and here is there big opportunity.
The Knight Riders can move upto the top of the IPL 2025 points table if they chase down the target inside 14.1 overs. However, losing the openers inside the powerplay might make them think about going through their target.
KKR lost Sunil Narine (5 runs off 4 balls) in the very first over. After hitting a boundary, he was cleaned up by Marco Jansen. In the very next over, Quinton de Kock (2 runs off 4 balls) was dismissed by Xavier Bartlett on his debut.

KKR Lose Openers Early Once Again
KKR have been guilty of their openers not giving them consistent starts this season. At 7/2, KKR were under pressure but skipper Ajinkya Rahane ( 13 runs off 10 balls) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (31 runs off 18 balls) have given them the momentum. The duo scored 19 runs off the final over of the powerplay to ease the tension somewhat.
Outside the powerplay, they kept the charge on in getting to the target as quickly as possible. Rahane and Raghuvanshi have mixed caution and aggression as they have taken the score forward in the first 10 overs. They added a 55-run stand together. As said earlier, KKR can top the points table if they chase down the target inside 14.1 overs. It was Yuzvendra Chahal who dismissed Ajinkya Rahane (17 runs off 17 balls) in his very first over giving Punjab a key breakthrough. The replays showed that the ball pitched outside off stump as Rahane denied taking the review. Chahal then came back to dismiss Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37 runs off 28 balls) in the 10th over as KKR lost four wickets inside the powerplay. Punjab, during their innings, lost six in the first 1o. KKR scored 72/4 in their first 10 overs.
